IV therapy & nutrient shots in Del Mar

Vitamins and nutrients delivered directly into the bloodstream, bypassing the digestive tract for full bioavailability.

Why the route matters

Oral supplements pass through the digestive tract, where absorption is partial and varies with the nutrient, the dose and the individual. Intravenous delivery bypasses that step entirely, which is the whole argument for the route — the full administered dose reaches circulation.

That is a statement about bioavailability, not about outcomes. Higher circulating levels of a nutrient are not automatically better, and more is not a strategy.

Suitability and safety

IV therapy is not appropriate for everyone. Kidney function, cardiac history, certain medications and several specific conditions can all make it unsuitable, which is why administration here is by licensed providers following a good-faith exam rather than on walk-in demand.

Tell your provider about every medication and supplement you take, including ones that seem unrelated. Interactions are the most common reason a planned drip gets modified or declined.

As an emergency physician, I noticed that most of the people who came into the emergency department were there because of either a lack of information or difficult lifestyle choices. I couldn’t change people’s choices, but I could help those who simply hadn’t been taught how to care for themselves — so I started a clinic built around teaching people how to be healthy. In 2011, I attended my first regenerative medicine seminar. I followed the field for several years, attended more seminars, and in 2017 began offering regenerative therapy in my clinic. Education has always been at the heart of my work, and I believe deeply in what we do. I’m always glad to sit down with a patient, answer questions honestly, and talk through whether our approach might be right for them.
